Young The Giant

Young the Giant at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in September 2011. Young the Giant is an American alternative rock band that formed in Irvine, California, in 2004. The band's line-up is Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar), and François Comtois (drums). Formerly known as The Jakes, Young the Giant was signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009 and released its eponymous debut album in 2010.

After ACL, Young the Giant performed songs from their debut album for an episode of MTV Unplugged which debuted online in November. The band released a music video for non-album track "West Virginia" in January 2012, and started their first major headlining tour in February. They will also headline mtvU's first-ever Woodies Tour starting later that month. The song "My Body" was used in Season 3 Episode 6 "Smells Like Teen Spirit" of the Vampire Diaries and Season 2 Episode 2 "Ua Lawe Wale" of Hawaii Five-0. Their second single, "Cough Syrup" was featured in the Season 3 Glee episode "On My Way", sung by Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) during the attempted suicide by Dave Karofsky (Max Adler).
