Leftover Salmon
I was really excited that Leftover Salmon was the (co) headliner at the Old Settler's Music Festival in Driftwood, Texas on Saturday, April 20, 2013. After a long hiatus the band has been rejuvenated with the addition of former RockyGrass Banjo Contest winner Andy Thorn. They've been touring since 2012, and have a new album to share, Aquatic Hitchhiker. Produced by Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, this is Salmon’s first record in eight years and first ever of all original material. This cool, spring Saturday night they rocked , and gathered a sizeable crowd (considering that they were scheduled at the same time as home-town favorites, The Gourds). Their energetic set commenced with "Liza" from the 2012 CD, and included many other new originals and old favorites, including: 01 Liza, 02 Down in the Hollow, 03 Sing up to the Moon, 04 Gulf of Mexico, 05 Aquatic Hitchhiker, 06 Walking Shoes, 07 Bend in the River, 08 Morning Sun , 09 Breakin Through, 10 Riding on the L&N, 11 Here Comes the Night , 12 Boo Boo, and their Encore: 13 Euphoria . A high quality (FLAC) recording of this performance can be heard at http://archive.org/details/Los2013-04-19.sbd.akg483.flac16
