Bordertown Bootleggers

Bordertown Bootleggers. A hard swinging band that remains true to the roots of Western Swing with nods to the blues and jazz featuring classics by Spade Cooley, Speedy West, The Texas Troubadours as well as original instrumentals. The Bordertown Bootleggers are quickly becoming thee band to see and hear in Austin for Western Swing music and dance fans. Headed by guitarist Jake Langley, the band features alumni of Asleep at the Wheel, Cyndi Cashdollar on lap steel and dobro, Danny Levin on fiddle and Floyd Domino on piano. Rounding off a killer rhythm section is Rob Kazanel on drums (Will Taylor, Baker’s Dozen,Bootsauce) and Kevin Smith on upright bass (Heybale, Dwight Yokam). Heading up the vocals in live performances is Naomi Emmerson. On the band's debut recording, songs also feature Joel Guzman, Rick McCrae, Ray Benson and Tom Smith.
